Playing Sound Files

This is the first of several programming chapters that deal with Music library programming. It describes techniques for using the sound file player, a component of the Music library that plays large sound files from disc.

The original sound file player that is discussed in this chapter is largely superceded by the advanced sound player. Please do not used the sound file player unless you absolutely must. The advanced sound player allows multiple sound files to be linked together seamlessly and permits branching. See Advanced Sound Player" for more information.
